After making a purchase, simply fill out our questionnaire form. From there, we will do the rest.

We dive into your reading habits—your favourite books, authors, and genres—to handpick books we’re sure you’ll love. Each month, receive a carefully curated read tailored just for you. Discover new stories, fall in love with new authors, and let us bring the joy of reading right to your doorstep.

What book will I receive?

What comics will I receive?Each box includes two brand-new graphic novels - one from Marvel and one from DC - handpicked around your favourite heroes, villains, storylines and reading preferences.Your subscription alternates between two box combinations:

Month 1

  • 1 Marvel Comic Collection - a larger collected graphic novel edition, giving you a substantial Marvel story to dive into.
  • 1 DC Compact Comics Edition - an accessible, complete DC story in the compact graphic novel format.

Month 2

  • 1 DC Comic Collection — a larger collected graphic novel edition featuring a complete DC story.
  • 1 Marvel Select Edition — a smaller, accessible collected Marvel story, perfect for discovering iconic heroes, classic arcs and beginner-friendly reads.

The two combinations then continue to alternate throughout your subscription, giving you a varied mix of Marvel and DC stories every month.

Your selections might feature characters and teams such as Spider-Man, X-Men, Avengers, Hulk, Deadpool, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Harley Quinn and many more.

We will also analyse your Goodreads profile, to make sure we don't send you books you have already read!

Please note: this subscription is for collected graphic novels and complete comic stories rather than individual single-issue comics.

Do I need to have read Marvel & DC Comics before?

No - no prior comic book knowledge is needed!

We choose self-contained Marvel & DC graphic novels and collected stories, so you can enjoy each book without needing to have read dozens of previous comics first.

Our aim is to make Marvel & DC comics easy and enjoyable to discover, whether you’re a lifelong fan or completely new to graphic novels.

Most first orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days. However, because we personalise every box, occasionally we may need to order in a specific book that we think is a particularly good match for you. In these cases, your first box can take up to 7 days to dispatch — we think it’s worth taking a little extra time to make sure you receive the best possible picks!

For subscriptions, subsequent renewal boxes are dispatched within 2 working days of your monthly renewal.

Orders are fulfilled using Evri Standard Delivery and are usually delivered within 1–2 working days after dispatch.

If you have not received your order within 10 working days of dispatch, please get in touch and we will be happy to look into it for you.

What is the Book Box?

The Book Box is a book subscription box that puts the books first! We don't jam pack your box with wasteful nicknacks, instead we spend the time and effort finding the right book for you.

After you make a purchase we ask a couple of questions about your reading preferences (this only takes five minutes) and then we handle the rest from there!

Each book subscription box is filled with handpicked books specifically ordered for every customer.

TLDR: We find books you will love, and send them to your door!

What if I have already read the book(s)?

This is a fair question, and one expected to be asked. Don't worry, we have thought about this!

Firstly to avoid filling your book subscription box with books you've already read, we will look at your Goodreads (or other reading app) and cross reference our picks with this!

If you don't have a reading app, you can send us a picture of your bookshelf and we can use that instead.

In the unlikely event that we do send you a book you have already read, don't worry! Free returns are available!

How do you find the right books?

This one is simple, we just ask a couple of questions about your reading preferences - which help us to get to know a bit more about the books you love!

If you are based in the UK,shipping is completely freeon all of our Book Subscription Boxes, and one off orders!

Do you ship abroad?

Unfortunately we do not yet deliver outside of the UK. However... we are working on it, so please keep your eyes peeled!

Do you offer refunds?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at support@thebookboxes.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Comic and Manga Subscription

Why not start with a genre and go from there. You can always update your preferences throughout your subscription. But sometimes a genre can be a great place to start!
